Do you see yourself, as a PLM Manager, walking around your Company offices begging your colleagues to use some hard or unfriendly application?

Have you ever experienced the need of spreading your product data across the Company, while keeping costs down? Do you find it difficult to keep your engineers’ attention focused on the product and saving their time by removing the need to tap multiple IT systems, all with their different User Interfaces?

Many occasional users of traditional PLM, ERP and MES systems find the standard UI of those systems too rich, too complex, too difficult to use and, as a result, they reject those systems at all. This causes loss of productivity to your Company.

Today you have an alternative.

PLM Explorer

PLM Explorer® is a web application that allows users of popular PLM systems to access their PLM or ERP data using a simple, intuitive, easy to use interface, speeding up and simplifying the main operations that they are required to perform on the system, while at the same time optimizing costs.

Occasional users who need to access released product data can easily view those data without the complexity associated with the redundant UIs that many enterprise systems show today.

As the data are cached in its own database PLM Explorer® queries usually perform better than standard PLM systems, allowing shorter time for operations and increased productivity.

With its simple and intuitive interface, familiar to anyone accustomed to surfing the Internet PLM Explorer® minimizes (in facts almost eliminates) the need for training and manuals, reducing the cost of PLM introduction.

The ability of PLM Explorer® to interface the most popular PLM systems, modern or obsolete, allows companies that have more than one system from different vendors, to access them with the same interface, without requiring users to switch between heterogeneous UIs. It is also possible to merge information from different databases, performing faster and more significant searches in the company archives.

Not only: as PLM Explorer® can also access legacy systems, it can revamp old applications containing important historical data, but with difficult or awful user interfaces so to allow companies to easily plan the phase-out of those applications at their will.

With its architecture based on open systems PLM Explorer® is designed to minimize the cost-of-ownership and to preserve Company investments. Finally PLM Explorer® is fully customizable, according to the specific needs of each company or department, at a very low cost as it uses non-proprietary languages.

With minimum hardware requirements PLM Explorer® allows access to people in the Company who are not equipped with the latest technology or with expensive hardware, spreading use of PLM to departments otherwise excluded.

PLM Explorer® is designed according to a secure architecture, to be used through several layers of firewalls and segregating the staging and database area on a different network from your company enterprise systems such as PLM or ERP.

PLM Explorer® is already in use at a Major Defence Company where it has completely replaced the old UI of a legacy PLM application.

PLM Explorer® has also been adopted by a Major Automotive Company to build the foundation of its Engineering Supplier Portal, which is used to segregate their internal PLM system from a “staging area” where their co-design suppliers all over the world deliver their work. Once approved by selected internal personnel the deliverables are automatically transferred to the Company PLM database.
